The seven-week book discussion series based on “A World of Health: Connecting People, Place and Planet” concluded with an evening celebration at which the 15 participants shared a vegetarian pot luck meal and great conversation. Many commented on how their awareness of healthy eating and mindful purchasing of “stuff” was greatly increased through their involvement in the discussion group.
Enthusiasm was generated around the selection of the next book to be discussed. Sand County Almanac is the choice; the series will begin in early October and will include a visit to the Aldo Leopold Center in Baraboo and the viewing of “Green Fire,” a documentary about the life of Aldo Leopold.
