Sister Margaret (Leonarda) Hild
What first drew you to the Racine Dominican community?
Someone or something inside of me kept saying that this was the way I needed to go. I simply felt that I wanted to be a part of what the Racine Dominicans represented.
What has kept you in the community all these years?
Relationships made and that continued call I felt inside are a part of this. I loved teaching, and I was a good teacher. Working with abused women at Bethany, tutoring, and other such experiences were also a part of my community life experience. However, a major reason is the fact that I have made a commitment to God and to this community. Come what may, I will continue to be a faithful member of this community.
What is one particularly cherished memory of your years in ministry?
While I worked primarily with 7th and 8th graders (which in itself contains many cherished memories), I also tutored younger and older children. On all levels, I spent extra time with those struggling with reading skills. It was always wonderful to experience their progress and success with them.
