 Foundation with a Future
Plans will soon be underway to build a library upon the 1850's foundation located in the center of the circle drive at the Eco-justice Center. We recently received word that the SC Johnson Fund, Inc. has awarded us an $85,000 grant to help with the construction of the building which will include a handicapped accessible restroom, classroom space, and fiber arts studio, along with a collection of environmental education resources. As with the house addition, the new structure will be "built green" and become a teaching tool for energy efficiency and for the use of Earth friendly materials. We are seeking other donations to help furnish and complete the library.
Tax deductible donations from individuals, groups, or businesses can be made to Racine Dominican Eco-Justice Center. We hope that by next summer it will be completed and in use!
