Racine Dominicans At Work
In Memory

 We Remember Cathey Rennick

Associate, Cathey A. Rennick, died February 3, 2010, after a long struggle with cancer. Reverend Dr. Cathey Rennick had been the pastor of Peace United Church of Christ in Brillion, WI. We remember Cathey's family, especially her three daughters, Elisabeth, Sarah and Rebekah, in our prayers.

In this picture, Cathey is seen with Racine Dominican Sisters Alberta Bekkers on the left and Julianna Dischler on the right. Ss. Alberta and Juliana served as Cathey's sponsors in the associate relationship. She made her commitment June 21, 2008.

Of her associate relationship with the Racine Dominicans, Cathey wrote:

"I learned about the Racine Dominicans when I came to the Retreat Center in 2000 for spiritual direction as I completed my work in the Doctor of Ministry in Spiritual Formation program in Chicago. I felt very drawn to the vision of the Racine Dominican sisters and felt that I shared that vision.

"... I am astonished at the depth and range of the community's theological and missionary work and would be proud to be part of it. It constantly challenges my thinking and acting in my own community of faith (the United Church of Christ) and refreshes my vision and commitment to living and preaching the gospel. I hope that I have gifts to offer the Racine Dominican Community and so I make a request to be an associate.

"... I pray that you will find a place for me, as you discern with God's help. Either way, I know the Racine Dominicans will continue to be part of my ongoing life's journey."
