Dominicans Host Peace Prayer
The Racine Dominicans invited the public to a “Prayer for Peace” on September 21, the day declared by the United Nations General Assembly as the International Day of Peace. The short service began in the motherhouse's Siena Center Chapel and progressed to the center’s peace pole outside. A large peace dove banner led the procession.
“This is a day devoted to commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among people and nations,” S. Peg Gabik, planner of the prayer service said. “We hope people join us in focusing their energy and prayer toward the dire need for peace in today’s world.”
