Soul Collage

 SoulCollage® is a process of creating, over time, a personal deck of unique, collaged cards from found and personal images for the primary purpose of self-exploration, self-acceptance, and soul-tending.

 SoulCollage® is a fun, engaging, deep and illuminating process that is, all at once, a form of creative play, self-care, and personal reflection.  The cards that you make contain images you select – or images that select you – and come straight through your Soul, bypassing the mind.

ICON RETREAT: MARY HODASZ

When painting an icon we place ourselves in eternity,
we forget about space, time and perspective;
we forget even about ourselves.- Fr. Roman Braga

Through the process of painting an icon, one can enter into the mysteries represented by the image.  In this retreat, the image of Mary Hodasz, or Mary with the White Rose, will serve as the model. After demonstration of each step of the painting, participants will have time to create their own representation of Mary Hodasz. Prayer and meditation with icons will be an integral part of each day. The history and background of iconography will be illuminated through videos and presentations.

This icon of Mary with the white rose was found on a pilgrimage led by Phil Zimmerman (and including S. Maryam), while they were in Hodasz, Hungary. It was found in a warehouse that the people of the town used to store old icons from churches that were in disrepair.

Through the process of painting an icon, one can enter into the mysteries represented by the image.  In this retreat, the image of Mary Hodasz, or Mary with the White Rose, will serve as the model. After demonstration of each step of the painting, participants will have time to create their own representation of Mary Hodasz. Prayer and meditation with icons will be an integral part of each day. The history and background of iconography will be illuminated through videos and presentations.

This icon of Mary with the white rose was found on a pilgrimage led by Phil Zimmerman (and including S. Maryam), while they were in Hodasz, Hungary. It was found in a warehouse that the people of the town used to store old icons from churches that were in disrepair.

Donald Goergen, OP, PhD, a Dominican friar of the Chicago Province, is a preacher, lecturer, teacher and author. Don has written primarily in the areas of christology and spirituality and taught in the US, Africa and Asia. After serving as Provincial for the Central Province of Dominican friars, he founded a Dominican Ashram, where he lived for nine years. Wear weather-appropriate clothes (no clogs or flip flops), including hat, sun lotion,

variety of animals (alpacas, goats, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, rabbits, and cats),

get their hands into the soil, water, and explore the eco-systems. We have bee hives

Jennifer Grant has a masters degree in  Education. She received her spiritual direction training from the Institute of Spiritual Companionship  where she then  joined the staff as intern.   She is a spiritual guide, retreat leader,  holistic energy therapist, and body-wisdom focusing guide. She has special interest in the divine mind body connection and feminine spirituality. She is a wife and mother to three.

Edwina will share stories and poetry about women from different walks of life around the globe who have made a difference in the world. Enter the experiences of brave women - environmentalists, poets, politicians,  martyrs and unknown women whose witness and courage will inspire and guide us on our own journeys. (M&R)

Edwina is widely published and has received numerous awards, such as The Oscar Romero Award, and Catholic Woman of the Year: England and Wales.

Chakras are energy connectors between our physical and spiritual natures. The opening of each chakra offers the potential for its own step into mysticism. From the root chakra, which offers nature mysticism, to the crown chakra, which offers Unity-Oneness mysticism, each chakra is a potential source of spirituality. The opening of each chakra can be a developmental, spiritual steppingstone to integrate thoughts, emotions, body, and spirit into the Source of Being.

Experience spiritual practices and meditations to open yourself to the flow of Divine Love Energy which, over time, may heal and transform your life. Spiritual and contemplative practices will be complemented by presentations and discussion. Some knowledge of the chakras would be helpful, but is not necessary. Simple body movement and sound therapy for each chakra will be a participatory choice, as well. While there will be periods and places of silence, this is not a totally silent retreat.
