Now Hiring: Caregiver (Full Time)

Ours is a beautiful residential setting for women religious (Sisters of St. Dominic) where we provide care grounded in our philosophy of fullness of life, focusing on a holistic approach to supporting our Sisters. We are not a skilled nursing environment. Your work will ensure the general health and well-being of the Sister residents through delivery of high quality supportive services that are consistent with the wellness philosophy of the Racine Dominicans.

Are you the reliable, responsible and sensitive individual to join our Supporting Living Team? As a Resident Care Aide you will provide personal care services to our Sisters under the supervision of the Nurse Manager - Supportive Living while maintaining the highest possible level of independence and dignity of the sister-residents.

Hours are 6:00 AM - 2:15 PM, including every other weekend and some holiday work.

Now Hiring: RN Staff Nurse (Part-time)

We are not a skilled nursing environment. Your work will ensure the general health and well-being of the Sister residents through delivery of high quality supportive services that are consistent with the wellness philosophy of the Racine Dominicans.

The Health Center Staff Nurse is a job-share position with another Nurse and provides needed assessments, nursing care, treatments and referrals for the Sisters of St. Dominic while ensuring the smooth operation of the Health Center. The Staff Nurse also assists staff in Supportive Living, as needed, to meet the needs of Sisters who reside there.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse with valid Wisconsin Nursing License.
  • CPR certification.
  • Successful experience in the field of nursing. Gerontology experience may be preferred.
  • Moderate computer skills including use of the internet.
  • Ability to relate to and motivate a variety of people and personalities.
  • Considerable initiative, solid judgment, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professional confidentiality.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Respect for and willingness to enact the mission of the Racine Dominicans.

Make each trip more than just a drive - make it a journey of compassion and companionship.

Ours is a beautiful residential setting for women religious (Sisters of St. Dominic) where we provide care grounded in our philosophy of fullness of life, focusing on a holistic approach to supporting our Sisters. We are not a skilled nursing environment. Your driving and companioning will ensure compassion is present to, during and returning from medical, dental and vision appointments along with opportunities to provide other support through errands, additional trips or activities.

Job Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Accompany Sisters as a caring and compassionate companion to appointments of any kind as directed by the Health Services staff and do errands, i.e. medication pick-up and other driving tasks as needed
  • Take accurate notes during appointments if needed and promptly inform Health Services staff of all relevant information, orders, observations, next appointments and the like.
  • Use proper lifting techniques and gait belt as may be necessary. Implement fall prevention techniques and respond adeptly in case of a fall.
  • Manage some durable medical equipment including ensuring it is in working order when dispensed and returned as well as cleaning all returned equipment.

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's license with clear driving record
  • Day shift, some variance due to appointment times. Rarely may include weekend and Holiday hours.
  • Experience with caring for elderly, sick or recovering people.
  • Have a high degree of interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
  • Respect for the elderly, the frail and the disabled

Your work will ensure the general health and well-being of the Sister residents through delivery of high quality supportive services that are consistent with the wellness philosophy of the Racine Dominicans.
